Endangered species at risk include: native cowry, leafy sea-dragon, weedy sea-dragon, western blue devil, harlequin fish, and the striped pyjama squid.

Caulerpa taxiflora - a type of algae, destroys native seagrass in coastal habitats. This affects coral reefs because the seagrass filters out sediment that would otherwise go directly to the coral reef.
